Update on the way to the field

Julie and I are blessed to have some "downtime" in New Zealand on the way to Indonesia.  We are quickly seeing highlights from both the north and south islands, realizing early on that you just can't do New Zealand justice in anything under 3 months, much less the 18 days we have.  The people are super (and they speak a kind of English 😉) and the geography, culture and history are fascinating.

At the same time that we're racing between places, we're also blessed with the technology to stay in touch with our colleagues, although the time zones and infrequent time not vacationing makes this a challenge.

Jon is missing not being deeply involved in some major projects that are coming due in the next couple of months.  Julie, on the other hand, is hearing from key members of the Timor team that all is going along very well.  We mean, very well.  They are saying that a consultant check on the preparatory work has already been done and that they feel ready for our arrival later this month.

All to say that God has been blessing this project much.  Do not cease praying, however, because we know Satan has not ceased trying to introduce problems.

Julie has been keeping up with our close friends (from Ohio) and Jon as we walk trails, though her arthritic hip is causing some problems.  We're thankful that the shooting pain, a result of a protruding disk in her lower back, is not occurring.  Pray also for our general health (colds, etc), that we will be rested and ready when we arrive in Timor.
