Got an email answer today about the results of the support I provided Carl over the radio the other day. It was so great to hear that the computer can be used again.

Dear Jon,
Just wanted to thank you for your help getting the computer back in operation yesterday. Not sure what triggered the problem in the morning but your instruction to press F8 when booting so that I could start the computer in Safe Mode and then to perform a System Restore to the last good settings did the trick.
