Hello, is that you?

Email

Email to the normal addresses that you've used in the past will work fine.  These will be automatically delivered to our computers here.  As a reminder, these addresses are

    jon_limmer or julie_limmer   followed by    @wycliffe.org or @sil.org or @jaars.org

In addition, because there's no guarantee that the satellite internet connection here at Ukarumpa will be up and because the 2000+ workers here depend so much on email, the organization here has our own independent email system (which I help operate and support).

Julie and I share one email account here in PNG (j-j.limmer@sil.org.pg).  Notice that the ".pg" country code has been added at the end.  I've also got jonlimmer@sil.org.pg and julielimmer@sil.org.pg set up to deliver email to this same single account (if more convenient for you to remember and type).

Skype

We're something like 14 hours ahead of those who live on the east coast.  That means that we should be at home, online and perhaps available for Skype calls between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm EST.  The same may/can be true any morning (EST time) up to 9 am, when it's our evening.

Of course, the schedule is different for our PNG Saturdays (anytime between 6 am and 11 pm our time) and Sunday afternoons (again, our time).

You can drop us an email to schedule a time to chat.  We'd love to.  My Skype ID is jon.limmer.

The internet connection speed varies from slow to slower and can easily become too slow for video calls at when others are doing Skype, sometimes even for voice calls.  If you're interested, we can recommend some times that are better than others.

Phone

If you're wealthy and/or desperate, we do have a house phone (011 675 737 4670) with an answering machine left behind by the owners.  Two major disclaimers, however:

  • It is expensive (like $4/minute) and
  • We can't talk to you if we're not here and it's pretty expensive for us to return the call.
