We've experienced four earth tremors (read that, earthquakes) since we've arrived less than 3 weeks ago. Two of them were barely noticeable. Here are the specs on the other two, which also happen to be the most recent of the four:
Note: a magnitude increase of 1.0 means it is 10 times stronger. For example, an earthquake of 6.0 is ten times stronger than one of 5.0.

Magnitude 6.3 NEW BRITAIN REGION, P.N.G.
Date-Time Monday, August 16, 2010 at 01:09:30 AM local time at epicenter
Location 5.71S 148.34E
Depth 183.1 kilometers
Distances 185 km (115 miles) NE of Ukaruma, PNG
This one was pretty strong, but much farther away. I woke up in bed when this happened. Julie slept through it.

Magnitude 5.0 EASTERN NEW GUINEA REGION, P.N.G.
Date-Time Friday, August 27, 2010 at 04:42:22 PM local time at epicenter
Location 6.22S 146.41E
Depth 114.3 kilometers
Distances 85 km (55 miles) N of Ukarumpa, PNG
Julie was home for the second of these and I was at my desk. Though not the stronger of the two, because it was much closer it was quite a wake-up.
