Lest we forget how short life is

We've experienced four earth tremors (read that, earthquakes) since we've arrived less than 3 weeks ago.  Two of them were barely noticeable.  Here are the specs on the other two, which also happen to be the most recent of the four:

Note:  a magnitude increase of 1.0 means it is 10 times stronger.  For example, an earthquake of 6.0 is ten times stronger than one of 5.0.

Julie was home for the second of these and I was at my desk.  Though not the stronger of the two, because it was much closer it was quite a wake-up.
