Prayer Requests
- Working as a team, both Julie and me together as well as with the missionaries and national workers here at Ukarumpa
- Consistent time in prayer and the Word TOGETHER
- Julie's office work is causing serious neck and shoulder pain. We need to figure out what to change, including perhaps setting up a home office.
- Safety for the home. Ours is the 2nd most broken into home historically (though not recently) on the center.
- General on-center reduction of theft and home break-ins. 1 or 2 daily incidents of attempts or successful break-ins. Sometimes people are threatened bodily.
- Adjustment to combination of mile-high altitude and very hilly terrain. We live at the bottom of the hill so everything is up. We are still trying to catch our breath.
- Adjustment to daily life here. The pace is not slower… everything is new and takes longer to do.
- That we will soon join the right Bible study fellowship group on center. Many are already full.
Praise
- for meaningful work for Julie. Julie is working on cleaning up an audio recording of Luke for the Agarabi people.
- We have adjusted to the climate and food well and are healthy, except for a few times of stomach problems for Julie
- Many of the missionaries have been very, very welcoming, encouraging, and thankful that we've come
- The times of worship and preaching during Ukarumpa's "spiritual emphasis week" has been refreshing and challenging
- We've been able to use the Internet to call Julie's mom just about every day and Jon's dad every few days
- Jon's dad is recovering extremely well after back surgery in mid-July.
